Access and Society Tips for Jakhan
- Some lanes climbing off Rajpur Road are steep and narrow. A smaller vehicle shuttling goods to the main road is sometimes safer than a full-size truck.
- Hillside houses often have stairs between the parking point and the door. Count the steps roughly before the survey, because the crew size depends on it.
- In the monsoon, slopes and lanes here can be slippery. Ask for waterproof wrapping and allow extra time on the day.
Moving Costs in Jakhan

Frequently Asked Questions
Can a moving truck get up the lanes in Jakhan?
Not always. Some lanes off Rajpur Road are steep and narrow, so goods may be shuttled to the main road in a smaller vehicle. We check the gradient at the survey.
Is a monsoon move in Jakhan a good idea?
It can be done, but slopes and lanes get slippery. Ask for waterproof wrapping and allow extra time, and avoid weekends when Mussoorie traffic is heavy.
