Moving day loading checklist

Keep the loading day organised with one point of contact and a countable inventory. Resolve scope changes before goods leave rather than trying to reconstruct them at delivery.

1. Keep one authorised contact availableHave the agreed quotation and inventory ready so questions about extra items can be resolved immediately.
2. Clear the handling routeSecure lift access, keep stairways clear and ensure the agreed loading space is usable.
3. Separate the carry-on bagSet aside keys, medicines, documents, cash and essentials in a place that will not be packed.
4. Record item conditionPhotograph furniture, appliances and vehicles before wrapping; point out existing marks to the team.
5. Check labels while packingEnsure each carton has a number and destination room, with fragile items clearly identified.
6. Agree changes before loadingIf the inventory or access differs from the survey, request a written revised scope before approving extra work.
7. Keep the signed inventoryCount loaded pieces and retain the consignment number and coordinator's contact details.
8. Check the old propertyWalk through cupboards, lofts, balconies and storage areas before locking up and returning keys.
9. Update the receiverShare the inventory reference, contact details and agreed delivery window with the person receiving the goods.
